Mariah Morgenstern is a Director, Producer, and Editor based in Los Angeles. Mariah is graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Film and a minor in Mass Communications. In 2020, she was selected as a Director with the Second City Hollywood. This elite, highly competitive program only accepts eight applicants per year. Mariah is a Second City Conservatory-trained improviser, which is a big influence on her comedic style. Her Short Horror-Comedy, “DEATH AND" was met with high praise, winning multiple awards in 2023 including Best Horror Comedy, Best Director, and Best Visual Effects amongst other awards & nominations both domestically and abroad. Her Directorial Feature Debut, “SKIMMER” is currently in post-production.
In 2021, Mariah was nominated for Two VMA’s for her work on 24k Goldn and Iann Dior’s hit song, “Mood”.
Her short film, “Bumblebees”, starring Jackie Cruz (Orange is the New Black) and Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place I & II) was accepted into Tribeca’s shorts program in 2022 as a competing film.
Her understanding of the business side of filmmaking has only sharpened her tool belt in the creative world as a director. She is a believer in keeping the cinema alive, driven by her passion to get audience members out of their houses and into the theater.
Apart from film, Mariah enjoys teaching yoga, performing, staying active, and being an Improviser.
